Feminism and pseudofeminism

Feminism: What is it? Why everyone nowadays calling himself/herself a feminist? So the major basic meaning of the feminism is the women deserve respect like any other human being. Feminism is an intellectual commitment and a political movement that seeks justice for women and end of sexism in all forms. Feminist inquiry provides a wide range of perspectives on social, cultural, economic and political phenomena. The term feminism has many different uses and  its meanings are often contested. Some writers use the term “feminism” to refer to a historically specific political movement in the United States and states; other writers use to refer it to the belief that there are injustices against women.

Feminism, a belief in the political economic and cultural equality of women, has roots in the earliest eras of human civilization. It is separated in three waves ; first wave feminism, dealing with property rights and right to vote; second wave feminism, focusing on equality and anti-discrimination, and third wave feminism, which started in the 1990s as a backlash of second wave’s perceived privileging of white, straight women. From Ancient Greece to the fight for women’s suffrage to women’s marches and the #meToo movement, the history of feminism is as long as it is fascinatin

Let’s know more about the feminism:

Early Feminists:

Plato, advocated in his classic republics that women possess “natural capacities” equal to men for governing and descending ancient Greece. Not everyone agreed with the Plato; when the women of ancient Rome staged a massive protest over the Oppian Law, which restricted women’s access to gold and other goods, Roman consul Marcus Porcius Cato argued, “As soon as they begin to be your equals, they will have become your superiors!”. Also in THE BOOK OF CITY OF LADIES, 15th century writer Christine de Pizan protested Misogyny and the role of women in Middle Age. During the Enlightenment, writers and philosophers like Margret Cavendish, the duchess of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and Mary Wollstonecraft, argued vigorously for greater equality for women.  Abigail Adams, first lady to president John Adams , specifically saw access to education, property and the ballot as critical to women’s equality.

There are many more remarkable incident in the field of feminist works.

As we all know that there is one more thing which is parallely growing with this concept of Feminism i.e. “Pseudo or Fake Feminism”. And somehow, it is demining the concept of real feminism.

Pseudo or Fake feminism:

The misinterpretation of word feminism and represented as misandry and female superiority is the one way to define Pseudo feminism. If we know, then even most of women don’t what feminism truely means, the most problematic of them being privileged ones who misinterpret it and are vocal about it.

Is it feminism means to disrespect men? Most of the so called feminist (pseudo) who is very self proclaimed, especially on social media go around unnecessarily disrespecting men, abusing them, claiming to superior to men and doing things that are morally wrong for humans, expecting to get away with it under the pretext of Feminism.

This isn’t feminism. They are not demanding equality. They think of themselves as a superior race by insulting or undermining men.

It is very common nowadays that pseudo feminist would bash a man for shaming on her body type, abusing or hitting a women, would call him sexist if he discriminates with them on any grounds. I am not calling it as a good thing but if we take  another facet of this one i.e. if a women shames a man for his body, his colour, hits him or abuses him, these same sort of people would post these videos and presenting “women empowerment”. Is it a real meaning of women empowerment? There is where pseudo feminism blends with Hypocrisy. Any kind of act like shaming, abusing, violence and discrimination is undoubtedly wrong. But two wrong doesn’t make a right. If it is wrong for men to do it,then it also wrong for women to do the same. Feminism is not about selectivity it is about the whole.

Drinking alcohols, smoking and wearing kinds of dress and being vocal about all these are not making you a feminist but respecting individual's view does. Creating an equal society, free of discrimination and prejudice, free of hatred between genders, where everyone shares a common goals and get equal opportunities in education and employment is feminism.

Portraying all men as evil, playing the victim card unnecessary tagging any organisations or people, languages as sexist without really understanding term and context is pseudo feminism.

There are many cases which is realted to pseudo feminism takes life of many of the innocent ones.

So if you are offended by any of these lines about any gender then you are probably not supposed to be a feminist but pretending to be.
